Norway headlines updated 2022 World RX calendar
Hell in Norway is going to headline the updated 2022 FIA World Rallycross Championship calendar on August 13-14 following a postponement of the German round at the Nürburgring due to global supply chain delays.
“We are taking a major step this year and have no doubt that electric technology will elevate World RX to the next level, but such a significant evolution takes time and nobody has been immune to the global challenges of the past two years. Together with the teams, we are committed to presenting the new cars to fans in the best way possible, and we are confident the extra two weeks’ preparation time will enable everybody to do that,” said Arne Dirks, Executive Director of Rallycross Promoter GmbH.
“We look forward to returning to Catalunya in October and ending the season in style at the Nürburgring, but first, our focus is on Hell – and to getting World RX’s new era underway with a truly electrifying event!”
New to the updated calendar is Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain, set to host the penultimate round of the season on October 29-30.
The German round at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife will host the season finale instead on November 12-13.
The updated calendar will allow teams maximum time to prepare for the sport’s exciting new electric era, featuring 680hp rallycross beasts.

About FIA World Rallycross Championship
The FIA World Rallycross Championship is one of six official World Championship in motorsport alongside Formula 1 and World Rally Championship. The championship runs on seven venues across Europe and Africa. Rallycross is a combination of rallying and circuit racing. It is head-to-head short, sharp races on mixed surfaces (dirt and asphalt) contained within amphitheatre venues. In the headlining FIA World Rallycross Championship, high-profile drivers are equipped with fully electric RX1 cars producing over 600bhp and the ability to accelerate from 0-100km/h in less than two seconds – quicker than a Formula 1 car.
