CE Dealer Team heads for Swedish “Magic Weekend” in Höljes home race

CE Dealer Team by Volvo Construction Equipment heads to the legendary ”Magic Weekend” at the team’s home circuit Höljes in Sweden – a popular venue which usually attracts more than 50 000 fans.

CE Dealer Team arrives to the FIA World Rallycross Championship round at Höljes after a successful event in Norway two weeks ago, where the team scored its second podium of the year and its so far best result of the 2023 season.

Finnish rallycross star Niclas Grönholm claimed a second-place finish in Norway and trails championship leader Johan Kristoffersson by 13 points in second position.

”I am looking forward to Höljes, a track I think everybody would like to win on. It is going to be tough competition, like always. It is probably one of the most challenging tracks to set up everything one hundred percent right. As always, we are going to do our best, and believe in what we can do, and hopefully continue to score good results in front of our fans and partners,” says Niclas Grönholm.

Klara Andersson holds fourth place in the standings coming into her home race, just one point short of third – racing in front of her home crowd for the first time ever on a World Championship level.

”It will be incredible to race in Höljes, my home race! I feel that we have a good momentum that we will try to maintain. Höljes is one of the absolute best tracks in the whole world, but also very challenging. As usual, it will be tough, but I am very much looking forward to the challenge. It is called the ‘Magic Weekend’ for a reason, and it is always a great atmosphere there. I am looking forward to driving in front of my home crowd,” says Klara Andersson.

After both all-electric PWR RX1e race cars reached the final for the second World RX round in a row, CE Dealer Team now holds second in the teams’ championship.

”We have had an encouraging start to the 2023 season, but there is room for improvement. Höljes will, as always, be a tough event with the strong competition we have in the championship. We have worked flat out to come as prepared as possible to our home event in Sweden. And there is nothing on our radar but to keep pushing and take further steps forward,” said Jussi Pinomäki, Team Manager of CE Dealer Team.

The World RX round of Sweden, referred to as the ”Magic Weekend”, is settled at the Höljes track in north Värmland – close to the border of Norway. The event is one of the biggest yearly sport events in Sweden, attracting more than 50 000 people to a village with a population of just over 100 persons.

CE Dealer Team is at full capacity in Höljes with more than 400 guests from hosting dealer Swecon and all other partners of the programme, including Engcon which will feature its products and unique track branding.

Volvo Construction Equipment will display the latest cutting-edge machinery in Höljes and service the race weekend with course vehicles – creating the best possible conditions for edge-of-the-seat racing at the legendary event.

The World RX of Sweden weekend starts on Friday with practice sessions. The competitive action starts on Saturday with SuperPole and the two first heats. Sunday features heat three, four and the finals.

The action is broadcast LIVE worldwide on TV – as well as through the RX+ online streaming platform and SVT for Swedish viewers.
